Ondo Finance Launches Round-the-Clock PayPal USD and OUSG Token Conversions
Ondo Finance introduces seamless 24/7 conversions between PayPal USD stablecoin and tokenized treasury funds, marking a significant advancement in digital asset management.
Ondo Finance has unveiled a groundbreaking service enabling instantaneous conversions between its tokenized short-term U.S. treasuries fund and PayPal's stablecoin offering, PayPal USD.
According to a corporate statement, investors will gain the capability to seamlessly convert between Ondo's flagship product – the Ondo Short-Term U.S. Government Treasuries and PayPal USD. This integration provides enhanced accessibility and flexibility for institutional and retail investors alike.
Ondo's OUSG represents a tokenized U.S. treasuries fund with primary investments allocated to the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund.
This strategic integration follows PayPal's recent announcement enabling PYUSD transfers across Ethereum and Solana networks through LayerZero technology.

"The integration of OUSG and PYUSD conversions strengthens our product suite, providing our clients with additional options for secure, high-quality settlement solutions that maintain their assets within the blockchain ecosystem. We're proud to facilitate the convergence of traditional and decentralized finance," stated Nathan Allman, chief executive officer of Ondo Finance.
The launch of instant conversions between PYUSD and OUSG coincides with unprecedented growth in tokenized real-world assets. Investment vehicles like OUSG and BUIDL are attracting increased attention from qualified investors seeking innovative opportunities at the intersection of cryptocurrency and RWAs.
These financial products appeal to investors by offering tokenized cash equivalents that combine minimal risk with attractive yields from money market funds and U.S. treasuries.
Data from RWA.xyz indicates that the global tokenized U.S. treasuries market has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from approximately $100 million in early 2023 to exceeding $2.3 billion.
Concurrently, the total on-chain RWA market has reached $13.1 billion, driven by major financial institutions like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton expanding their core offerings across multiple blockchain platforms.
